While it may not be a “one-of-a-kind” spot, it is home to the only two locations in Missouri right here in St. Louis. Spice things up at Everbowl in Ladue or Creve Coeur and “reinvent your fast food experience.”

Everbowl is a superfood, nutrition-centered establishment – home to an assortment of açaí bowls and smoothies.

Açaí, pronounced “AH-sigh-ee,” is derived from the South American açaí palm plant, a palm tree species. The tree’s berries are dark in color and blueberry-like and are pulped and pureed to create the açaí base. In the late 1980s, the well-known Carlos Gracie, a founder of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, began this eventual concept of açaí bowl specialty shops. The idea was picked up and supported by local fitness junkies and surfers. Once this idea expanded into Hawaii and became popular on the West Coast, açaí bowls began trickling into the rest of the United States in the early 2000s.

Everbowl is a chain based in California and made its way into the St. Louis area in 2021. The menu is made up of six different bowl combinations with an additional option to create your own mix as well.

Taylor Riney, a sophomore Maryville student and Pawprint member, recommended Everbowl as a place to try being new to the Lou.

Taylor recommended Everbowl because “in St. Louis there are a lot of different places to eat, but there is nothing like Everbowl.”

Riney has her own fitness brand, and is a health enthusiast. You can learn more about Taylor’s endeavors towards a career in fitness on her website https://taylorrineyfitness.com/! She says that Everbowl is a great choice if you’re “looking for a healthier restaurant” option.

On my visit to Everbowl, I went classic with a selection of their “Everbowl” which is a combination of the açaí base topped with granola, strawberries, blueberries, and bananas.

It was refreshing, smooth, and tasty. I would order this again, but I’m excited to try other combinations from their menu.

Prior to trying my first açaí bowl, I was hesitant if I would like it. No reason to be afraid of the açaí- If you like smoothies, then you would love an açaí bowl. It combines the concept of a thick, frozen blend of a smoothie-like acai base and fresh fruit and toppings to create a sweet and healthier meal or snack option. Get out of your comfort zone and indulge in a selection from Everbowl.

Follow Everbowl on instagram and keep up with their new recipes and fun- @everbowlcraftsuperfood, and find their full menu on their website!
