Why are you majoring in mathematics?
“I chose mathematics, because I’m kind of a nerd and because math has job security. Financial math, actuarial science, isn’t that big, so the pay could be great as well, depending where I want to end up.”
Why did you choose Maryville?
“I chose Maryville, because I wasn’t enjoying soccer in England anymore, so I wanted change. I wanted to travel to the United States and see what else is out there. Combine that with good options into actuarial science and financial math, traveling and a scholarship, Maryville is the perfect pick for me.”
What is your goal in life?
“My goal in life is to have a good time, and sadly to have a good time, you need a decent job, a decent pay and to live stably. I’m trying to combine that with things a love like sports [and] traveling. I think that that has worked out pretty well so far. But we will see what the future has in store for me.
What advice would you give?
“Love what you do. That’s fairly general, but I think it especially counts when you’re doing math (actuarial science), because if you don’t like doing that, you’ll end up pretty miserable. [It’s the] same with soccer; The time and commitment you have to put into it is not worth it if you don’t like it.”
