Submit a Letter to the Editor
The premier agenda of Pawprint is to stimulate discussion and debate among the Maryville University community. Please use this form to submit Letters to the Editor.
GUIDELINES and TIPS
•Be current– Do not wait more than a week after the publication of the article to write a letter to the editor. (Go to ‘About Us’ section to find out when the next issue will be printed).
•Be composed – Question another’s position but avoid personal attacks. Attacking a writer personally takes away from your credibility.
•Be Concise – Make sure to keep the letter short (under 400 words) and to the point.
•Write in Good Times and Bad– You do not have to limit your letter writing to times of adversity. If an outlet or event positively covers your issue, write a letter praising or thanking this coverage or support.
Letters should address specific articles, subjects or issues printed in Pawprint.
All letters must include name, phone number and either signature if mailed or e-mail address if sent electronically – for verification purposes only.
The name of the author is usually published, but may be withheld for compelling reasons, such as threat of physical harm to the author. A name will be withheld solely on the consent of the editor.
Thank you for contributing to Pawprint.
