Staff Fall 2011
My name is Melissa Graham and I am a senior. I am a strategic communication major, really because I couldn’t deal with the heartbreak of putting dogs to sleep as a Veterinarian which is what I have wanted to be my whole life due to my love for dogs. Once I realized that wasn’t in my future, I was drove towards the comm field because of the wide variety it comes with as well as being a huge people person. In my spare time, I like to attend Cardinals Games (world’s biggest fan), workout, go shopping, try new restaurants, travel, write and spend time with my family, boyfriend, friends, and, of course, my dog Bella. Guilty pleasures consists of dipping everything in ranch and Keeping up with The Kardashians. Currently working on writing a book and finding out how I can be Chelsea Handler’s publicist when I graduate. Keeping my fingers and toes crossed.
Alexandra Gresick is a fourth-year student at Maryville in the communication program. Her interests include reading, writing, history, art and music. She also enjoys going to museums, galleries, plays and different international restaurants. She is on the Dean’s List and is excited to be a part of the communication program and the Pawprint staff.
My name is Dana Janssen and I will be graduating with my communications degree this December. After spending my first two years of college at Mizzou in nursing, I decided to make a huge change and switch to communications at Maryville and have never been happier! I am currently interning at a firm called Avala Marketing Group and can’t wait to start a career in the advertising field! I am a die-hard Cardinals and Blues fan but love all sports and anything to do with sports! When I actually find time between my full-time class load, internship and two part-time jobs I enjoy cooking, wine, volunteering, feeding my shopping addiction, going to as many Blues games as possible, anything outdoors and of course spending time with friends, family and my puppy, Ellie.
Michelle Lawrence, and I’m a junior English/Communication double major with a minor in Psychology. I love running, biking, watching movies, and reading anything and everything! I’m the Editor-in-Chief of Magnolia, Maryville’s Art & Literary Magazine. I’m also a writing tutor in the Center for Academic Success and First Year Experience. I’m excited to be on the Pawprint staff!
Whitney Matt will be graduating (finally) in December 2011 from Maryville University with her bachelor of arts in strategic communication. She is currently a special events intern with the St. Louis Cardinals (and loves it) as well as a part-time server (and hates it). Previous to interning with the St. Louis Cardinals, she was a marketing and communication intern at FOCUS St. Louis. Whitney is a very busy lady who likes it that way. She is on Maryville University dean’s list and is involved in PRSSA. She likes playing softball and soccer as well as watching baseball, football, hockey, and wrestling (real wrestling– not fake, chair throwing wrestling). She is an only child, except for her little brother (who doesn’t count). Whitney loves to write, read, plan events, attend events, meet new people, and enjoy the company of good friends and even better family. You can contact her (or recommend some good books to read, fun events to attend, or new places to eat) at wmatt@live.maryville.edu or follow her on twitter (whitneymatt90).
Kristen Wann (@KristenWann) is a senior Strategic Communication major graduating in December 2011. Kristen spent the summer interning at Clear Channel Communications in St. Louis and works part time as an administrative assistant at a Life Care Services facility in Sunset Hills. Kristen stays busy during the school year by being involved on the Maryville University Campus Activities Board and is currently serving as the Executive Vice President. Kristen enjoys a good book, any kind of movie and attending different kinds of events around St. Louis.
