When it comes to beer, most people have a one kind that they prefer. Most often favorites are products like Budweiser, Bud Light, Miller Lite and Coors Light, but there is a wide variety of beers out there that people have never tried.  Sometimes, it’s good to step outside of our comfort zones and try new things. The International Tap House gives you that opportunity with beer– if you are feeling adventurous!

The International Tap House (iTap) prides itself in its extraordinary beer selection. Between bottles and draught iTap houses over 500 different flavors from about 25 different countries around the world.  With bottles alone there are over 480 flavors that fill the enormous bottle cooler. In addition, there are always about 40 additional flavors on tap. There are many seasonal flavors that come and go, but many do stick around. For example, with fall right around the corner, iTap is stocking up on different varieties of pumpkin beer.

According to the iTap website, “Our bottle list changes every few months to give our regulars a ‘good read,’” although you do not have to be a regular to enjoy iTap. There is a flavor for everyone.

If you don’t know what you like, the bartenders at iTap are experts. You can tell them what your usual beer of choice is and from there, with their expertise, you can determine the right beer for you.

Since their selection is vast it can be very hard to settle on one beer. There are so many different qualities to choose from, lager or ale, light or dark, flavor and much more. It can be very overwhelming, but do not be shy– just ask for some advice.

When asked about his first experience at iTap, Tony Nelson, college student, said, “I’m not very adventurous when it comes to beers, but with the help of the bartender I was able to find something similar to what I’m used to, but still had a different flavor. And it turns out that it wasn’t so bad after all.”

The atmosphere is laid-back and relaxing. People sit around, conversing over the many different flavors in their glasses. There are TVs so you can go there to watch your favorite teams and sporting events. Since iTap does not serve food, they allow you to bring your own food.

You can find iTap in two different locations: Chesterfield and Soulard. Both of these locations offer specials on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights.  Hours and directions can be found out the iTap website, internationaltaphouse.com.  The experience you will have at iTap will not leave you disappointed. Between the great environment and the massive beer selection, you really can’t go wrong.
