Being a college student trying to live off a minimum wage part-time job can be difficult. How are we supposed to be able to afford to do anything with most of our money going toward gas and groceries? Maybe we could afford to live a little if things were half the price. I am here to tell you that you can make this happen! Groupon was introduced in 2010 and has grown quite a lot since then! Below is a chart showing the history of Groupon and also explaining how the process works!
I myself have bought plenty of Groupons. Ones for tanning packages, restaurants, salons and even car detailing. The deals are arranged by city so if you wanted deals around St. Louis you would select that city. St. Louis seems to have a lot of deals to some really well known places as well as places you have never heard about. You can view the deals without entering an email address by just clicking the Groupon home button at the top left-hand corner of the screen. By entering you email address Groupon will send you updates every day informing you what deals they are offering. Most deals are half price or even more!
They have a few categories at the top of the page which are Deal of the Day, All Deals, Now Deals and Goods. Deal of the Day is the newest deal that has been introduced, and then the All Deals tab has deals that were released within the last few days. Each deal has a time limit to how long the deal will be available is usually a few days; but beware some deals can sell out quickly, so don’t wait too long to buy! Now Deals are local deals that are only valid that day. Groupon finds these deals for you based on the zip code you enter. Most now deals will be refunded to you if you decide not to use it that day but it’s always important to read the details! Goods are deals on items that will be shipped to you. They have a variety of electronics, toys, clothing, jewelry and much more available to purchase at around half off.
I have always had great customer service with Groupon, as well! I decided that I didn’t want to use a Groupon anymore, and they were happy to refund my money! I have saved a lot of money using Groupon; but beware it gets very addicting, so be careful and make sure it’s something you actually need! Lately they have been having special deals in a certain category like for Mother’s Day they had groupons for flowers and massages, and for summer they just came out with ones to fight boredom!
Groupon has a lot to offer so check it out and experience the savings!
