BEFORE YOU REGISTER:
If you are an undergraduate day student, hopefully you met with your adviser, and they authorized your ability to register. After helping students choose classes to meet major and minor requirements, advisers authorize students so that they will be able to register online during or after their assigned registration date.
“All undergraduate students MUST make an advising appointment prior to registering for classes,” states Rachel McCollum, Assistant Director of the Student Service Center. “Weekend & Evening College and Graduate students do NOT have to meet with their academic adviser prior to registration.”
When registering for classes, it is important to also check for holds on your account prior to registering.
To ensure you have been cleared of all holds for registration, go to the “Registration Eligibility” link available through the Maryville Portal or Access Maryville.
Some students frequently complain of registration troubles during the beginning of their assigned times. Most often this is in the form of a slow-loading Maryville homepage and Access Maryville site, due to the high volume of students accessing the website at the same time.
In my four years of registering for classes complete with agony and annoyance, I’ve noticed that it is much easier to wait at least twenty minutes after my assigned registration time or to go online later in the day to avoid experiencing an overwhelmed, slow site and registration.
Another option is to register manually in the Student Service Center, located in Gander Hall 124, during normal hours or the Weekend & Evening College Office.
The Student Service Center can be contacted with any questions at 314-529-9360 or ssc@maryville.edu.
Happy Registration!
