On Friday, September 2, 2011 the Campus Activities Board (CAB) hosted their annual Foam Party at the Donius University Center (DUC) Commons patio.
The Foam Party, held every year at the end of the first week of school as part of UWOW (University Week of Welcome), draws over three hundred people and always promises a giveaway.
This year, CAB did not disappoint handing out free t-shirts at the end of the night, a Maryville student favorite.
Students danced until midnight to tunes played by student DJ, sophomore, Carter Harbert.
Even though ambulances and police made a brief appearance, the Foam Party went off without a hitch displaying the effortless planning and execution by event chair, sophomore, Christy Berry.
When asked about planning the event, Berry stated, “Planning the foam party was a great experience. Following something from the beginning stages until execution really made me appreciate the hard work that goes into event planning. The most rewarding part was getting to see the results of all the work that I did. It was wonderful to see students enjoying themselves.”
Senior Rachel Schaeffer stated, “I loved helping CAB put on the UWOW foam party. Carter was an awesome DJ and I had a great time dancing with my friends. I also loved the bright orange shirts they gave away.”
