With the Fall 2010 semester coming to a close and students preparing for spring, the Campus Activities Board has been doing the same by getting together a full line-up of events for next semester.
This semester, CAB will not hand out the traditional wall calendars for students to hang in their rooms and apartments, but instead a magnetic calendar to help in the Maryville effort to go green.
Students can expect the usual traditional spring events, such as a Casino Night full of amazing prizes, Maryville Idol during Nexfalawanacya, and Cram Jam.
A fun array of live performance events will take place, including a Dueling Pianos event complete with a bar and appetizers as well as a hypnotist and live band/karaoke group. Two speakers, including Ben Lehrman and Marc Elliot, along with a variety of comedians also fill up the spring calendar.
Events that will occur during the day designed for students to have something to do in-between classes include an airbrush extravaganza, Crush soda sales for Valentine’s Day, photo flip books, airbrush tattoos and a giant blow up game of twister.
The movies that will be shown for free, along with free popcorn, candy and soda include: Easy A, Due Date, Inception and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1.
Siblings Weekend this year will take place the first weekend of April and will have a medieval theme. Events taking place during that time include a trip to the City Museum, a bounce house, jousting, antique photos, a showing of the new hit movie Tangled, and a performance by the Improvised Shakespeare Company.
“I am excited for airbrush extravaganza, photo flipbook and casino night. I have never been to a casino night so I am excited to go this year,” said CAB Committee Chair Kayla Hartshorn.
Be sure to keep updated with CAB so you know all of the events by becoming a fan of their Facebook page or by the CAB website.
